In order to know where a student is going, we have to know where that student is.

At Manitou, our evaluations are comprehensive and narrative, and our assessments are ongoing and part of the relationship to student learning. Because we believe that schools should be a nurturing environment, we use narrative evaluations to communicate a comprehensive picture of where a student is at a particular point in time.

The Manitou school measures and tracks student performance through a variety of curriculum-based assessments, formative, and summative assessments as well as a student learning portfolio, which focuses on the student’s academic and personal growth.
